About The Position

As an Automotive Dispatcher with Christian Brothers Automotive, you are the first point of contact for our guests, welcoming them with a warm and positive attitude. Your role is essential in creating a lasting first impression and setting the tone for our guests' experience. You will be responsible for dispatching vehicles and jobs to technician, managing the intake process, staging parts for jobs, ensuring that all guest information and vehicle details are accurately recorded. You will also coordinate with our technicians to assess parts needs, order necessary parts, and maintain inventory levels. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both guests and team members. Potential to move into a Service Writer if desired

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Driving record must be acceptable to our insurance carrier.
  • Prior computer and customer service experience required.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 50+ lbs.
  • High school education is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and a desire and ability to work with the public.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills required.
  • Previous experience as a counter person at an auto parts store is a plus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
  • Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head.
  • Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle’s needed repair.
  • Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand tools.
  • Walk/stand for the majority of their workday.
  • Drive manual transmissions vehicles.
  • Efficiently navigate a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a counter person at an auto parts store is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatching vehicles and jobs to automotive technicians
  • Receiving and ordering parts for vehicles that are in the repair approval process
  • Entering parts information into work orders
  • Counting in house parts inventory
  • Initiating and documenting parts returns
  • Initiating and following up on warranty claims with vendors
  • Move vehicles from intake spots to stage for the next step in the process
  • Perform guest follow up calls
  • Shuttle our guest
  • Various other administrative tasks and light janitorial duties as required
  • Other duties as assigned
