Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Deliver technical training virtually and in-person through a variety of formats including seminar style, small group coaching, and hands-on, from 1 – 8 hours in length to effectively transfer theoretical knowledge to actual live diagnostic strategies. Through phone, in-person and electronic communications develop relationships with stakeholders to effectively schedule training within assigned market area. Effectively demonstrate on vehicle diagnosis/repair procedures and objectively evaluate the diagnostic skills and aptitude of service technicians. Provide automotive subject matter expertise in support of the design and development of training content for a variety of media types including video, web-based, seminar, hands-on, and certification, utilizing advanced graphic techniques Provide technical diagnostic assistance to technicians via phone as necessary It is important to note that this position requires 25% - 50% overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Proficient with automotive service information and diagnostic support software
  • Ability to work skillfully with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including scan tools, lab scopes, DVOMs, HVAC equipment, vibration diagnostic equipment, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and work environments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; working with customers and coworkers in a team setting
  • Strong working knowledge in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), internet and email
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current ASE Certified Master A1 – A8 Automobile Technician (must be obtained within first year of employment)
  • ASE A9, L1, L3, L4 and Section 609 certifications (must be obtained within first year of employment)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of five years automotive technician experience
  • Automotive instructor or public speaking experience
  • Experience with aftermarket parts and supplier processes/standards is a plus
