About The Position

The Thermoforming Automation Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, efficiency, and continuous improvement of thermoforming automation systems. This role focuses on automated equipment and processes related to product packaging, product handling, and associated machinery, while supporting Manufacturing Equipment Efficiency (MEEF) initiatives and overall plant performance.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of thermoforming equipment and automation systems
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Ability to lead and execute complex equipment repairs
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment efficiency concepts (MEEF)
  • Proficient computer skills for documentation and maintenance systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and equipment information
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance or automation maintenance role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem‑solving, multitasking, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven dependability, reliability, and accountability.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to pursue ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders and safely use tools and equipment for repairs.
  • Tolerance for working around grease, oils, inks, and solvents.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Vision requirements: 20/20 with correction to detect minor defects.
  • Ability to differentiate colors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of thermoforming automation equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues.
  • Complete repairs and execute automation-focused maintenance projects.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities that support both immediate repairs and long‑term MEEF goals.
  • Ensure equipment operates efficiently to meet production and quality standards.
  • Handle and package products according to established procedures.
  • Maintain consistent, high‑quality output.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate equipment status, issues, and improvement ideas with maintenance and production teams.
  • Support departmental goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership.
