About The Position

As a Automation Technician II or III , this position is responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and controls aspects of production machinery. Work will be done in compliance with current regulatory guidelines, national, state and local laws, company policies and safety requirements. These activities can include but not be limited to: machine rebuilding, machine electrical troubleshooting & repair, mechanical troubleshooting and repair; preventative/predictive maintenance; control system troubleshooting, maintenance and general fabrication. We have an opening on 3rd shift (Sun-Thurs, 10pm-6am), this position will determine pay based on experience paying in the range of $21-$32 per hour. 3rd shift will also pay an additional $2.25/hr.

Requirements

  • Requires a tech degree or related training (ex. Associate’s degree, military training, etc.) two or more (2+) years of experience for Level II, four or more (4+) years of experience for Level III
  • Must possess a solid background in equipment repair with the ability to perform installation, alteration and repair of machinery and components.
  • Basic fabrication knowledge: tig weld, mill, lathe, hand tools and threading.
  • Intermediate AC/DC and 3 phase electrical understanding
  • Knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • PLC, VFD and basic automation programming knowledge.
  • Must display knowledge of Controls and apply to machine repair and trouble-shooting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and work from Blueprints and schematics.
  • Must possess good math and reading comprehension skills and be able to read, speak and comprehend instructions in English or language of country as applicable, including procedure documents, as well as proofread alpha and numeric data.
  • May require own transportation to drive between facilities as applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, Federal Drug Administration (FDA), other controlled regulatory agency or Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) packaging or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Advanced fabrication knowledge: CNC set-up and operations, repair product contact parts with Tig welding, polishing ,and lathe turning preferred (or the ability to learn).
  • Fanuc experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer production line calls to adjust or repair machines in a timely manner.
  • Performs machine rebuilding, repair and troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and may move equipment.
  • Automated equipment programming, adjusting and troubleshooting.
  • Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians across all shifts in a team environment.
  • Continuously looks for and helps to implement improvements to the process, productivity, quality and reduce costs.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties specific to the department as assigned.
