About The Position

Amentum is seeking an HVAC Technician III to join our team in East Peoria, IL! Typical work schedule Monday - Friday 10:30PM-07:00AM may vary based on business demand. Rotating weekend on call hours will be scheduled to support the client. The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. This will include but not limited to refrigeration repairs, troubleshooting, and air handler maintenance and repairs. Duties may include any of the following: electrical repairs or installations, plumbing, welding, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g. Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal). Responsibilities: Under general supervision, reveals mastery of advanced duties of a specialized/technical nature. Encounters diverse problems that require thorough analysis. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary. Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required. Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations. Coordinates work with outside contractors. Assures code and building standards are met. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested. Perform other duties as assigned in non-position duties as needed to support client's needs. Reports on problems to leadership and management

Requirements

High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
3 years of experience in area of specialization.
Must have EPA 608 Universal Certificate
Must be able to work out of an aerial lift 30ft or higher.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position requires a valid Driver’s License.
This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
Requires the use of various man lifting devices to reach work area.
Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Requires the use of aerial lifting equipment.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves (multiple types based on work being completed), hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Must be willing to work overtime when required.
May be required to work holidays and weekends.
