The Automation Service Technician is responsible for assembling new isolation and control components, as well as repairing and servicing existing ones, in both field and shop environments. This role involves collaborating closely with clients to ensure the proper functioning and safety of valves used in process systems. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, effective problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or 2+ years of automated, PSV and instrumentation valve assembly or repair, testing, reconditioning, or modification experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in both independent and team settings.
  • Ability to use tools such as measurement devices, basic hand and power tools and overhead cranes.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of instrumentation valves, control valves, and isolation valves.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and service calls to diagnose and resolve valve issues, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Perform testing and calibration of valves and related instrumentation to ensure accurate operation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of all service work performed, including inspection reports, repair notes, and calibration results.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers on proper valve operation and maintenance practices.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during service activities.
