About The Position

SEL (Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories) seeks a professional and innovative individual to join our PCB Factory team in Moscow, ID. SEL is a 100 percent employee-owned company that specializes in creating and manufacturing digital products and systems that protect, and control power systems around the world. In this onsite position you will work with various automation systems involved in printed circuit board manufacturing and collaborate with an energetic team to produce high-quality printed circuit boards. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering , is highly disciplined, and works well in a fast-paced environment. As an Automation Engineer, a typical day might include the following: Providing automated solutions to production with high quality. Providing production support and driving automation issues to root cause to prevent reoccurrence. Debug and update PLC ladder logic with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable. PLC code will interact with subsystems such as conveyors, robots, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), machine vision, and 3rd party equipment. Manage electrical cabinet builds. Create machine interactions with plant-wide Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Introduce automated processes into production, and train Maintenance and Production teams to support after deployment of equipment. Create and review specifications and provide technical evaluations for automated equipment. Other duties as assigned. This job might be for you if you are a US Citizen and if you have: B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in implementing and improving automation solutions in a manufacturing environment. Technical expert in the subject of Industrial Automation, with proven experience working with PLCs (example: Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi), HMI/GUI layout, Field Bus Networks, Vision Systems, and integration of Robotics. Familiarity with electrical prints and standards for industrial equipment. Technical presentation and training skills. Demonstrated proficiency in programming PLCs, with a well-defined methodology for maintaining code structure and organization. Proven ability to specify, implement and validate fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery processes. Location Moscow, ID – This position is located in SEL’s state of the art Printed Circuit Board factory in Moscow, ID. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
