About The Position

Our manufacturing client is looking to add an Automation & Controls Technician II to support modern, automated production equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex machines, working with PLC-controlled systems, and gaining exposure to advanced automation technologies.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or related field
3–6 years of experience working with automated or PLC-controlled equipment
Ability to connect to and troubleshoot PLC programs
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Comfortable reading schematics and technical manuals
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

PLC software experience is a plus
Proven track record of reliability and strong work ethic
Willingness to work overtime when needed
Self-motivated learner who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

Diagnosing and repairing automated manufacturing equipment
Connecting to PLCs to identify faults and restore machine operation
Installing and wiring new machines, automation cells, and production lines
Supporting machine upgrades, retrofits, and system improvements
Working with sensors, safety devices, vision systems, and laser scanners
Reading electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical documentation
Collaborating with maintenance teams, engineers, and outside vendors
Assisting with equipment startups, relocations, and commissioning
Following all safety, quality, and environmental standards
