About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to support manufacturing operations and process control systems within a regulated environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining and improving automation systems, supporting capital projects, and ensuring systems remain compliant with industry standards. You’ll work both independently and cross-functionally with teams such as Operations, Quality, IT, and external partners to support day-to-day system performance and long-term improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
  • Strong hands-on experience with PLCs and SCADA systems
  • Familiarity with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial electrical components
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial networks and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated or cGMP environments is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to automation and process control projects from planning through completion
  • Assist with defining project scope, timelines, vendor coordination, and system specifications
  • Configure, program, and test PLCs, SCADA platforms, HMIs, and drive systems
  • Provide support for electrical components tied to automation initiatives
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with PLC-controlled systems and SCADA environments
  • Troubleshoot drives, instrumentation, control panels, and industrial networks
  • Recommend solutions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Help maintain systems in a validated state in alignment with regulatory standards
  • Support documentation, system backups, and data integrity processes
  • Assist with system upgrades, recovery efforts, and vendor interactions
  • Participate in site change management processes
  • Support development and adherence to control system standards
  • Assist during audits and technical reviews
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory (cGMP) requirements
  • Complete required compliance and technical training
