About The Position

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems. The Automation Construction Manager oversees large-scale building automation projects, managing budgets, schedules, and technical execution while ensuring compliance with control specifications. This role combines deep DDC design-build expertise with strong collaboration skills to work with GCs, MEPs, and engineers. In addition to project delivery, the position drives growth through strategic business development, client relationships, and innovative construction practices, while mentoring teams to strengthen the automation division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering , c onstruction m anagement, or related field.
  • 10+ years in automation and mechanical trades P roject management and design- build experience in DDC.
  • Strong understanding of building automation and controls systems; ability to interpret control sequences and specifications.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, and contract negotiation within the automation industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with BIM and other construction technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of large-scale building automation construction projects, including budgets, schedules, material procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee technical execution with a strong understanding of control sequences and specifications.
  • Collaborate daily with General Contractors, Mechanical Contractors, MEPs, and Design Engineers.
  • Drive business development by identifying and pursuing major construction opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand market share in the construction sector.
  • Assist in job walks, scope definition, and proposal development for large projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to maximize profitability.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices (e.g., BIM integration, pre-fabrication).
  • Mentor and develop project engineers and managers, train sales teams on strategic approaches to large construction opportunities.
  • Foster strong client relationships and ensure seamless pre-construction and project execution.
