About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for advising and supporting GOM automation networks. Conduct annual site visits to perform health checks on the automation networks. Implement automation network standards. Perform system updates and optimization of all offshore control networks. Advise on future upgrades and manage project installations.

Requirements

  • 2 year technical degree or equivalent working experience
  • Expert knowledge of oil and gas systems
  • Expert knowledge of automation, industrial networks and controls
  • 2+ years of Oil Field experience
  • 5 + years of IT/OT systems experience
  • Demonstrates strong leadership abilities and mentoring expertise.
  • Capable of maintaining high performance even in stressful situations.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of automation, industrial networks, and electrical design funda mentals.
  • Familiarity with Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) and Management of Change (MOCs).
  • Experienced in both digital and analog I/O systems, including programming and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Has comprehensive understanding of automation network control systems.
  • Skilled in hypervisor configuration and support, especially with ESXI.
  • Well-versed in Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Exhibits excellent written, verbal, and project management capabilities.
  • Applies superb analytical thinking and problem-solving strategies.
  • Shows effective time management proficiency.
  • Organizes multiple tasks efficiently within given deadlines.
  • Has solid understanding of relational database systems and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Interacts professionally and positively with clients and customers.
  • Knowledgeable about tag-naming standards, programming simulation methods, and system testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Requires offshore travel to deepwater facilities
  • Requires travel to attend meetings and FAT’s throughout the gulf coast
  • Install, program, maintain or troubleshoot automation network and security system
  • Knowledgeable in PLC programming, HMI development and industrial network structure
  • Testing and checking the system for weakness in software and hardware
  • Maintain firewalls, VPN’s, servers and switches
  • Configure and install security infrastructure devices
  • Ability to communicate and report network security issues to upper management
