About The Position

The Automated Equipment Operator is a key position in our Lockeford, CA plant. Every day you're maximizing the output of products and ensuring that the product line being manufactured is at top quality while operating safely. Reporting to the Manager or Supervisor, the position operates any parts of the Epak Pipe Machine. The role monitors the machine as it manufactures the various sizes of concrete pipe. This position hourly starting wage is: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • Must have experience operating fully automated or semi-automated machinery in a fast-paced environment with some fabrication experience.
  • Ability to learn computerized, electric-powered manufacture equipment, operate machine controls and monitor any system alarms and have the ability to diagnose and clear alarms.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • General Electronics skills
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with a CMMS software.
  • Basic user level knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP.
  • Familiar with PLC Control equipment and PLC Languages.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed daily production goals in output of concrete products with ownership of the equipment, pride in quality and demonstrated appropriate safety consideration in operations.
  • Manufacture products in accordance with standard operating procedures; inspect the forming to ensure the forming is properly set up and ready for production; install a variety of different molds and make appropriate adjustments per operating manual prior to running machine; monitor automated system to ensure product is manufactured correctly.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly locked out and tagged out to set up fully-automated machine
  • Demonstrates willingness to take direction and follows instructions.
  • Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at work-site.
  • Works overtime as assigned.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning, organizing).
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor.
  • Operates the EPak packerhead machine to produce concrete pipes, monitoring production cycles in real-time via, for example, cameras.
  • Uses the machine's control PC (Windows-based) to set parameters, adjust production speed via numerical indicators, and manage the concrete mix.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the machine, which features a gearless, two-piece construction designed for easier, lower-maintenance operation.
  • Monitors the concrete consolidation process, to ensure high-quality, dense, and properly formed pipes.
  • Follows all safety regulations, maintaining a clean workspace, and achieving high-speed, efficient production (e.g., for 12-inch to 48-inch pipes).
  • Inspect the set height, moisture of concrete mixture, and amount of concrete ordered prior to running fully-automated machine.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on the fully-automated machine.
  • Troubleshoot any alarms triggered by the fully-automated machinery and take the appropriate steps to rectify any issues associated with the machinery, or, if not able to troubleshoot, consult with manufacturer technical support team for further troubleshooting assistance.
