About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled AutoCAD Designer with a strong background in electrical drafting to join our Converse-based team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create detailed and precise engineering drawings that meet project specifications while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in driving our projects from concept through to completion.

Requirements

Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of experience using AutoCAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) to produce design drawings.
2+ years of electrical drafting experience in commercial projects.
Familiarity with equipment and switchgears layouts.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Experience in a specific industry, such as commercial electrical or electrical engineering.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software and familiarity with simulation tools
Experience with project management software and methodologies

Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD models and drawings based on specifications provided by engineers and project managers
Draft and develop detailed electrical drawings: one-lines, schematics, panel schedules, and switchgear/equipment layouts.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to meet tight deadlines on complex projects.
Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards
Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to refine designs and address any issues during the design process
Conduct design reviews and present findings to team members and clients, incorporating feedback into revisions
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation in compliance with company policies
Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD software and design techniques to improve design quality and efficiency continuously
