About The Position

Position Summary: Provides technical expertise and manual skill in the inspection, servicing, and repair of the cars, vans, trucks and all other gas powered equipment To protect the safety of the individuals we support and staff, Springbrook requires new employees to be current on all recommended vaccinations, including but not limited to: COVID-19. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles and roadside emergencies. Responsible for removing, installing, diagnosing, repairing, disassembling and assembling parts and components. Need to be able to diagnose and repair electric over hydraulic wheelchair lifts Provides reasonable care and maintenance and assumes accountability for assigned, issued and/or checked-out tools, equipment and/or vehicles Documents repairs completed. Performs all activities in accordance with the latest job safety practices. Maintain work areas, equipment and tools in proper order and with care. May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or GED required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as automotive mechanic.
  • Must have or be able to obtain ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures of automotive repair.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot automotive issues.
  • Strong judgment and reasoning abilities.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work extended hours and be on-call, as needed.
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds in a safe manner.
  • Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
