About The Position

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Body Shop Estimator to join our team. This position involves appraising vehicle damage, providing accurate answers to customer questions, and explaining repair needs in a clear and professional manner. Body Shop Estimator Compensation and Benefits: Body Shop Estimator Competitive Salary: $1,500/month base + 8.5% commission on individual parts and labor gross profit (Average total monthly earnings: $9,000+) Generous Paid Time Off (PTO): We prioritize work-life balance, offering industry-leading PTO. Basic knowledge of dealership operations and/or office/clerical experience.

Responsibilities

Appraising vehicle damage.
Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
Writes up customers’ vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order.
Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
Establishes "promised time."
Checks with team foreman, if necessary.
Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.
Checks on progress of repair throughout the day.
Contacts customers and/or insurance company regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted.
Closes repair order as appropriate.
Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
