Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Licenses as required by state guidelines.
  • Three (3) years of related experience to include at least one (1) year of appraisal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of automobiles
  • Ability to understand and utilize appraisal software
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; must be able to kneel, squat, or bend; must be able to work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather conditions; have the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, reach/work overhead; be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds; be able to drive up to 4 hours per day; and must have continual use of manual dexterity

  • Prior catastrophe (CAT) appraisal experience is a strong plus for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Appraises and determines costs of repairs to damaged vehicle in the field; determines repair versus replace and parts utilization.
  • Evaluates and determines if the vehicle is repairable or salvageable based on industry standard estimatics software.
  • Travels to inspection locations to appraise vehicles in the field.
  • Prepares estimates using estimatics software.
  • Works directly with auto repair facilities to determinate supplemental repair processing and provides a supplemental estimate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travels as required.
  • Catastrophe Deployment & Ongoing Field Expectations Prior catastrophe (CAT) appraisal experience is a strong plus for this position.
  • The role may require deployment in support of CAT operations, particularly during peak summer months.
  • Deployments can involve extensive travel, extended work hours, and temporary relocation based on business needs.
  • During non‑CAT periods, colleagues are expected to consistently manage daily appraisal volume within their assigned home territory, demonstrating strong time management, autonomy, and adherence to productivity and quality standards.
  • Candidates located in or near Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Denton, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; Oklahoma City, OK; Kansas City, MO; and Des Moines, IA are especially beneficial, as these markets support sustained daily claim volume and require the ability to effectively manage workloads when not deployed for CAT events.
