About The Position

At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Culver City, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Culver City, CA! Details: In-Person Tutoring in Culver City, CA! Schedule: 10 hours per month; 2 days a week 1.25 hour sessions Rate is betweem $25 and $35 per hour

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working with students with ASD, limited speech, or similar learning profiles.
  • Proven ability to design and implement individualized lesson plans in early elementary math and ELA.
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning strategies and experience supporting students with focus or processing difficulties.
  • Exceptional patience, adaptability, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and other therapists.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in special education, early childhood education, or related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction in foundational math, math concepts, and word problems.
  • Deliver structured lessons in reading, writing, and language conventions, focusing on organization, traits, and composition skills.
  • Support social-emotional learning, helping the student navigate frustration and build coping strategies.
  • Use positive reinforcement, collaborative language, and consistent guidance to encourage engagement and persistence.
  • Incorporate student interests (e.g., drawing, Sonic the Hedgehog) and visual supports to enhance motivation.
  • Adapt lessons and pacing to accommodate focus, retention, and processing challenges.
  • Communicate progress and strategies with the family as needed.
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate extracurricular schedules such as basketball and swimming lessons.
