(AECI) is seeking an Auditor to join our Audit Services team within the Executive Division. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across our organization and member Generation & Transmission cooperatives while contributing to work that directly impacts enterprise risk, operational effectiveness, and financial integrity. We are open to all experience levels across the Auditor progression (Auditor I through Senior Auditor) . Placement will be aligned to your experience, capabilities, and career trajectory. Why This Role Matters This is not a traditional, siloed audit role. You will: Work across operations, finance, compliance, and contracts Engage directly with senior leadership and the Board Influence risk management and business decisions Gain deep insight into the energy industry and cooperative model

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Ability to analyze and organize information effectively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-15% , including visits to generation facilities
  • Experience in auditing, accounting, or related field (varies by level)
  • Knowledge of auditing standards, internal controls, or risk frameworks
  • Interest in pursuing professional certifications (CPA, CIA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools or large data sets

Responsibilities

  • Execute risk-based audit engagements across AECI and member cooperatives
  • Evaluate internal controls, operational processes, and financial activities
  • Conduct inventory observations at generation facilities
  • Perform risk assessments and identify improvement opportunities
  • Analyze data and document findings to support audit conclusions
  • Prepare and deliver clear, actionable reports to leadership
  • Collaborate across departments to strengthen processes and controls
  • Support special projects and investigations as needed
  • As you grow in the role, you will take on increasing responsibility—from supporting audits to leading complex engagements and advising leadership
