About The Position

The Auditor II is an entry-level position and works under the direct supervision of the AML Manager and assists with planning, executing and reporting financial, operational and compliance related audits/projects to facilitate compliance with Morongo Casino Resort & Spa (MCRS) standards, policies and procedures, applicable federal laws. The Auditor is responsible for financial, operational, and compliance audits of gaming, hotel, food and beverage and administrative areas to evaluate accuracy of accounting records, compliance with regulations and internal controls, and the effectiveness and efficiency of operations .

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to perform under frequent time constraints and the flexibility to adapt work hours to the area being audited.
  • The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) year college degree in Accounting or related business degree is required or equivalent experience in internal audit, accounting, and/or Casino operations or Gaming Operations preferred.
  • Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.
  • Exceptional reading, writing and public speaking skills in US English are important to the successful conduct of this position.
  • Must be ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports, general business periodicals, professional journals or governmental regulations.
  • This position requires the SKA's to write reports and business correspondence.
  • These positions require the SKA's to add and subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • These positions required the SKA's to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, rates, ratio, proportions and percentages.
  • Must be able to apply basic statistics, develop and apply statistics in reports and analysis.
  • Ability to define problem, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • These positions require the SKA's to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the processes of internal control that compare and vouch Slot, Table Games and other gaming functions and other non-gaming functions to meters, other statistical profiles and documents.
  • Perform any combination of calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records recorded by other workers, or develop or assist to develop such records pertaining to Casino and non-gaming transactions.
  • Comply with and verify compliance of others with relevant regulatory and Casino policies as they pertain to gaming operations, non-gaming operations and administrative processes.
  • Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, fraud, or lack of compliance with Morongo’s’ established policies or procedures.
  • Assist to develop and maintain the effectiveness of accounting, auditing and internal control processes.
  • Maintain effective and timely communications with Casino Gaming Operations Directors, Managers, non-gaming Directors and Managers and other affected personnel.
  • Complete Exception Reports and related follow on actions as directed by the Casino Audit Supervisor (CAS) or Casino Audit Manager (CAM) or Non-Gaming Audits Manager as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the business processes related to Casino gaming (Table Games, Slots, Bingo, IVLT’s, and Craps), Casino Operations (Cash Cage, Food and Beverage, Security, Surveillance, and administrative functions) and other non-gaming operations (Hotel and Restaurants, Bars, Night Clubs and other tribal enterprises or enterprises authorized by tribal contracts and agreements.
  • Understands and adheres to all Title 31 procedures.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
