About The Position

Actors’ Equity Association, the union of professional theater actors and stage managers in the United States, is hiring part-time Audition Monitors in its New York office. The Audition Monitors will be responsible individuals who will provide a high-quality and organized audition experience. This position is part time and depends on auditions scheduled and is typically within the hours of 9am - 6pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Excellent customer services and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to learn and retain complex rules governing auditions.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to problem-solve and stay focused in a fast-paced environment
• Must be comfortable speaking publicly
• Ability to remain composed and respond appropriately to varied personalities.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and experience in theatre a plus
• Stage management experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Work with actors, casting personnel, and others to facilitate the smooth running of Equity auditions.
• Ensure that all rules governing audition procedures are followed.
• Effectively organize and maintain audition materials.
• Represent Equity at auditions and calmly and courteously enforce rules as necessary.
• Must be reliable and show up on time as scheduled.
