Students who audition at Boston Conservatory recall their audition experience warmly, and they always mention the positive interaction they had with the students who interviewed them post-audition. Voice Audition Interviewers will meet with prospective students after their audition to help them debrief their experience, answer any questions they have about the program they’re auditioning for, and get to know them a little bit. The role of Student Interviewer is vital to our admissions and recruitment process. Interviewers will be hired to meet with undergraduate applicants as well as grad applicants to the MM Opera, MM Pedagogy, MM Voice Performance and MFA Musical Theater Pedagogy programs. Interviewers will work in pairs in approximately 4-5 hours shifts (morning or afternoon), and work is usually only on weekends, usually on Saturdays between early December and mid-February. Student Admissions Interviewers get a behind the scenes look at admissions and recruitment and gain a better understanding of the process behind bringing new students into the school. They learn more about their own program and gain insight into the school at large. They learn to work as a team in an interview process and develop strategies for both putting an applicant at ease as well as drawing them into a conversation that is beneficial for all.
