About The Position

The Audit Manager will lead audit and review engagements from initial planning through final issuance while maintaining compliance with professional standards and firm methodologies. This role requires a technically strong CPA with demonstrated experience managing engagements independently, overseeing audit teams, and serving as a primary client contact. This is a leadership-level position that demands accountability, ownership of client relationships, and a deep understanding of audit execution across diverse industries.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of public accounting audit experience
  • Active CPA license (required)
  • Minimum of 3 years holding the Audit Manager title at their current firm
  • Proven experience managing audits and reviews for both for-profit and nonprofit clients
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple engagements
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Stable employment history with minimal job changes
  • Ability to work fully onsite in Lincolnshire, IL

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit and review engagements from planning through completion
  • Develop engagement strategies, timelines, and resource plans
  • Supervise and review work performed by senior and junior audit staff
  • Ensure audits comply with GAAP, GAAS, and firm standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for audit clients
  • Identify technical accounting issues and provide resolution guidance
  • Collaborate with partners on scheduling, risk assessments, and engagement oversight
  • Review financial statements and audit documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor engagement budgets and manage workflow efficiency
  • Contribute to improvements in audit processes and team development
