About The Position

The Audit Coordinator is the main contact for outside payer audit requests. This role involves managing, coordinating, communicating, and monitoring responses to data requests and appeals in a timely manner. The Coordinator provides input on denial trends and helps identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the Coordinator conducts routine Committee meetings to report on payer audit activity.

Responsibilities

  • Updates and maintains audit tracking system for internal reporting purposes.
  • Works collaboratively with Health Information Management on documentation requests and confirms timely submission.
  • Acts as liaison between Administration, Internal Audit, Nursing, Health Information Management, Case Management, Physicians, and external consultants on all payer audit related issues.
  • Prepares monthly reports detailing audit activity and results.
  • Conducts Audit Committee meetings and maintains meeting minutes.
  • Presents audit results to other Committees when requested.
  • Reports compliance risks and potential violations of federal and/or state laws and regulations to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
