About The Position

The Audiovisual (AV) Technician is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise-wide digital signage and audiovisual systems. This role ensures accurate content scheduling and deployment across the organization’s display network and provides comprehensive AV support in diverse environments, including conference rooms, clinical spaces, surgical settings, and public areas. Technician is critical for delivering seamless audiovisual experiences that support communication, collaboration, and operational efficiency throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, technology, video design or related field required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in servicing audio-visual systems, installing/operating/repairing.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching to install, configure, or repair AV and digital signage equipment.
  • Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding to mount displays, speakers, or projectors.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle small tools, cables, and electronic components.
  • Visual acuity to read technical diagrams, screen content, and small print on devices or wiring.
  • Occasional travel between buildings or off-site locations for service calls, installations, or support.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D) or Certified Technology Specialist – Installation certification (CTS-I) by the International Organization of Standardization by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain digital signage players and servers; troubleshoot playback issues and apply necessary software and firmware updates.
  • Assemble and configure AV systems including displays, microphones, speakers, control panels, and video routing equipment.
  • Perform regular maintenance and system updates to ensure optimal performance and reliability of AV systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV-related issues such as audio dropouts, video failures, connectivity problems, and control system malfunctions.
  • Offer technical support and training to end-users, ensuring proper use of AV and digital signage technologies.
  • Set up and test AV systems in surgical environments, collaborating with clinical and surgical teams to ensure readiness for procedures.
  • Support live events by setting up, operating, and monitoring AV equipment including projectors, audio systems, and conferencing tools.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during live events and assist presenters and event staff with setup and operation.
  • Break down and store AV equipment post-event and document any technical issues or feedback for continuous improvement.
