About The Position

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking an Audiology Fellow. This role is designed for a doctoral student currently enrolled in a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program. The position reflects the ongoing transition in the audiology profession, where the entry-level degree is moving from a master's to a doctorate. The AuD curriculum integrates extensive classroom instruction with practical clinical training, culminating in a clinical externship experience. This fellowship aligns with the American Academy of Audiology's recommendation for a four-year academic program that includes a 6-month externship. Unlike the previous master's model, which required a separate fellowship year for licensure, the AuD model enables graduates to qualify for licensure directly upon completing all degree requirements, including the externship.

Requirements

• Doctoral student in a Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

Responsibilities

• Assist with Epoc documentation and filing of charts
• Provide support for clinical trials and research
• Shadow audiologist and assist in patient testing and assessment
