About The Position

The Audiology Assistant reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities Maintain hearing aid inventory and supplies. Prepares equipment for audiological testing. Provides instruction to patients on hearing aid use, care, and troubleshooting. Performs basic hearing aid checks and cleanings. Assists Audiologists with hearing aid fittings, maintenance, patient education, and administrative work. Fit, program, and adjust hearing aids for optimal performance. Participates with other team members in patient care planning through verbal and written communications. Provides clear, concise, and timely patient care/medical documentation per departmental standards. Assist with insurance verification and billing processes. Participates in patient planning to facilitate the continuity of patient care. Participates in ongoing training and professional development. Promotes and maintains professional working relationship with interdisciplinary team. Adheres to the Hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Hearing Instrument Dispenser license from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)
  • Knowledge of hearing aid technology and troubleshooting.
  • Minimum one (1) year of previous experience working as an Audiology Assistant or Hearing AidDispenser role in healthcare or retail setting
  • Familiarity with EPIC
  • CPR-BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Proficient in Audiology software applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate hearing aid programming software and diagnostic equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years (2) experience working in an Audiology Assistant or Hearing Aid Dispenser role
