About The Position

The Hachette Audio Audiobook Post-Production Supervisor will coordinate the post-production process for 200+ Hachette Audio recordings a year, working closely with Hachette producers as well as outside vendors to create high-quality audiobook recordings on aggressive schedules, within budget constraints. They also provide support for the creation of audio marketing assets and podcast post-production. The post-production supervisor is the main point of contact for the entire post-production process – setting priorities, assigning work, translating the audiobook producer’s creative plan into action plans.

Requirements

  • Experienced with spoken-word audio quality control, sound engineering, audiobook post-production; including fluency w/ DAW software (Pro Tools or similar)
  • Experienced in Headliner and/or Canva
  • Highly organized, highly detail oriented, creative, flexible, and able to prioritize.
  • Capable of working in a deadline-driven and team-oriented environment.
  • Confident and polite in their verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can collaborate well with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Not intimidated by technological advances and new systems. Can utilize technology where appropriate to improve workflow.
  • Looking for continuous improvement and innovative solutions.
  • Able to maintain grace under pressure in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely Hachette Audio producers and all outside vendors to ensure recording schedule, quality and budget requirements are met – conduct pronunciation research, vet studios and production partners, supervise recording quality control checks, upload and archive all recording assets (as well as share with HA partners as directed)
  • Create and upload audiobook Chapter Level Metadata
  • Analyze post-production specifications in order to propose most efficient and affordable production options; be able to articulate Hachette Audio specs to one-time partners with minimal audiobook experience
  • Repair raw audio from studios and engineers in order to make it meet spec if the primary delivery is not satisfactory
  • Assist Director of Production in repairing older recordings flagged for issue by Operations team or outside retailers
  • Create audiograms
  • Attend and participate in regular staff and production meetings.
  • Work under minimal supervision, keeping audio Producer, Publisher and Associate Publisher informed of any post-production needs or delays.
  • Maintain accurate post-production information in the departmental databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
