About The Position

DSI Tech is seeking a skilled and motivated Audio-Visual Technician to join our expanding Audio-Visual team at one of the nation's leading technology solutions providers. In this role, you will be stationed at our client site in Pflugerville, Texas, where you will take full responsibility for Audio Visual installations, commissioning, and ongoing support of AV systems. You will collaborate closely with AV Engineers, Designers, and Programmers to deliver high-quality and reliable AV systems that facilitate modern collaboration and communication.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in AV installation, support, or related technical field
  • Knowledge of Shure, AV Pro, and Q-SYS.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, including Crestron, Extron, Cisco, Poly, and Zoom Rooms
  • Clear understanding of networking concepts and AV-over-IP technologies
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

  • System Testing and Commissioning Verification: Ensure all installed equipment, including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, video conferencing systems, DSPs, and control systems, is fully operational and performing to specifications.
  • System Optimization: Verify proper audio and video signal flow, projection scaling, and system settings to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise with installed systems to minimize downtime. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting of AV systems to identify and resolve issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Ongoing Maintenance: Perform routine checks, firmware updates, software upgrades, and hardware replacements as needed to keep systems fully functional. Provide ongoing on-site maintenance and support for installed AV systems, including software updates, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements.
  • Generate detailed reports documenting installation activities, troubleshooting efforts, and maintenance services. Conduct thorough testing and quality checks to verify that installed systems meet client expectations and project requirements.
  • Hands-On Support: Assist with cable management, AV rack work, and system adjustments to maintain organized and reliable installations. Perform basic programming and configuration of AV systems and components.
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, system schematics, and building diagrams. Perform cable rough-in, terminations, labeling, and structured cable management. Safely operate ladders and lifts; perform overhead work in construction environments. Apply knowledge of construction techniques relevant to AV installation.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Provide detailed reports of maintenance, troubleshooting, and system adjustments for transparency and record-keeping. Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and service calls.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and client requirements. Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and team members, providing updates and technical guidance.
  • Safe Field Operations: Perform work safely in construction or overhead environments, including the use of ladders and lifts, and applying best practices for AV installation. Comply with all safety and security protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordination with Remote Support: Work closely with DSIs remote support engineers for guidance and escalation when required. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
  • System Familiarity: Skilled in supporting Extron, Crestron, Shure, AVPro, Q-SYS, and other professional AV platforms, ensuring that your specific equipment is properly maintained and configured.
