About The Position

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and breakdown of all AV equipment for live events, meetings, and presentations. This hands-on role requires technical expertise, a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver seamless, high-quality AV experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required and a minimum of 1 year of hands on AV experience in a hospitality, corporate or events environment; or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • This position involves driving a company vehicle and/or company insured vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required, along with successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines. Follow safe, defensive driving practices at all times, obey all traffic laws, regulations, signals and markings, use a seat belt, and follow Company policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy. Never drive while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, report any accidents immediately and cooperate fully with insurance claims investigations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Technical degree in AV Technology, IT, or a related field preferred.
  • AVIXA CTS certification or similar credentials a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, install, and troubleshoot audio, video, lighting, and projection systems.
  • Execute full event AV setups including microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, projectors, LED displays, video conferencing systems, and lighting controls.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, event coordinators, speakers, and performers to meet all technical requirements.
  • Provide on-site support during events, ensuring real-time problem-solving for audio/visual issues.
  • Maintain inventory and perform preventative maintenance on AV equipment.
  • Drive a company vehicle to transport AV equipment as needed. Must follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols.
  • Provide exceptional customer service with a professional, positive attitude when working with clients and colleagues.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging AV technologies to help identify and implement innovative solutions.
  • Deliver occasional after-hours or on-call support based on business needs.
  • Uphold and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and cleanliness standards.
