About The Position

The Student Audio Assistant will provide audio service for Texas Performing Arts Academic Production events and performances. Both work study and non-work study students encouraged to apply. This position may also be eligible to count as an academic internship. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

Requirements

  • Willingness to follow technical instructions.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Have an interest in audio systems and sound reinforcement.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of software based media applications (i.e. ProTools, Q-Lab, etc).
  • Experience mixing live sound.
  • Knowledge of audio consoles, microphones, cabling, connector types.

Responsibilities

  • Clean cables, microphones, and stands.
  • Set up cables, microphones, stands, speakers and intercom.
  • Strike all equipment and return to proper storage area.
  • Represent Texas Performing Arts with a pleasant and professional demeanor through all interactions.
  • Arrive on time for work and maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Wear close-toed shoes or work boots.
  • Lifting and moving of 50 pounds or more.
  • Work from heights and in confined spaces.
  • Practice professional customer service skills.
