Slate is looking for an energetic, experienced and effective Attribute Integration Engineer, Electrical Accessories to develop and lead the Electrical attributes performance for requirements and validation at vehicle level interface of Slate Access Points (SAPs) to allow Accessory Part Interfaces for customers accessorizing the vehicle. The Attribute Integration Engineer, Electrical Accessories will help to oversee many aspects of our product and report to the Engineering Manager, Accessory Integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of automotive vehicle development experience within Electrical and Electronics at the component level, system level, and vehicle level, including target setting, feasibility, integration, and validation at the vehicle level.
  • Broad vehicle development process knowledge, including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically), and validate with statistical confidence.
  • Functional experience with all NHTSA / FMVSS, CARB, EPA, FCC, or other regulatory requirements.
  • Technical writing and documentation experience is required.
  • Excellent team building and relationship building skills, including the ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Highly adaptable and proactive, excelling in fast-paced start-up and new model launch environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have the ability to travel (up to 20%).
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Design Release Engineering experience is a plus.
  • Accessory or aftermarket part experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Development of vehicle level targets and implementation for all SAPs, while serving as a voice of the customer for the complete vehicle.
  • Oversee vehicle integration of all Accessories and SAPs, including requirements, feasibility (virtually and physically), and validation at the vehicle level.
  • Identify and resolve Accessory integration and design issues as the vehicle is developed.
  • Lead Accessory and SAP team meetings, working with all product development teams, including systems and components, packaging, manufacturing, accessories, and service to ensure the technical targets are set, solutions are optimized for all stages of the vehicle's life, and validation is executed.
  • Lead the team in problem resolution, with the ability to present recommended solutions to the management team.
  • Maintain vehicle level scorecards with input from the team.
