TIRC's Chief Investigative Attorney is a supervising attorney who oversees the investigation of torture claims by case attorneys for the Commission. The Chief Investigative Attorney trains and directs staff in the investigation, analysis and presentation of torture claims; monitors staff’s progress and coaches them on proper procedures and practices; evaluates staff annually in written and oral reports delivered to those staff; instructs and enforces policy and procedures with staff; and recommends staff employees for retention or termination. This attorney works closely with TIRC's Executive Director and General Counsel, advising on policies and procedures, and drafting and editing recommendations for Commission action on claims of torture.
