About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Ensures that each Team Member at Universal Kids Resort (UKR) has the necessary resources to look and feel professional for Guests through assigned wardrobe and approved costumes. Maintains a clean work area, sorts select garments to be sent to vendors, launders and dries garments and ensures proper tracking of garments being issued. Ensures garments and costumes are of good quality and are show-ready. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing Team Members with garments in a professional manner daily. This process includes providing service to Team Members at Universal Guest Service standards, ensuring that garments are available, noting any shortages, and completing inventory controls. Assists with preparing Performer costumes for use through issuing, pre-setting, and proper return of items. Performs quality checks, stocking, scanning, and storing inventory received from various external laundry services. Ensures that all wardrobe and costume garments are fully stocked and ready for use, including all accessories, hats, belts, ties, jackets, and other seasonal items. Supports the cleaning and maintenance of all costume pieces through spot cleaning as needed and sending out for dry cleaning, ironing, and steaming for certain items as directed. Monitors dry cleaning and repair orders to include checking orders in upon return from vendor and notifying leadership of discrepancies. Scans, quality checks, and hangs garments received from various cleaners daily. Sorts dirty laundry and prepares certain items for cleaning vendors based on type of wash, quality control, and usage. Partners with vendors for pick-up and drop-off of laundry and incorporates back into stock. Transports soiled laundry to designated loading dock for third-party cleaning vendor collection while following all established procedures and safety standards. Washes and dries incoming dirty laundry. Operates machinery such as washing machines and dryers. Utilizes UKR’s garment tracking system for daily inventory requirements and issuing of pars for Team Members. Communicates and relays costume wear and tear to leadership to ensure sustainable use of costumes. Assists in Performer fittings, set-up and tear-down of costumes, and documentation. Maintains a clean and safe work environment by constantly monitoring the immediate area and/or surroundings. Responsible for ensuring a neat and organized work area and assisting with trash removal. Assists with seasonal weather garment initiatives and sustainment efforts as directed. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
  • Ability to inspect incoming and outgoing garments for wear, tear, and other quality checks.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • 6+ months of experience working in Guest Service and/or with inventory management systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of inventory systems is preferred.
