Attendant Operator Wire Draw
About The Position
Operate and adjust wire drawing machines and auxiliary equipment to draw all sizes of rough and finish wire to specifications. Work from general instructions. Point wire end of coil and thread through to finish block; load coil stock from storage area to pay-off, using hoist as provided for heavy coils and to relocate pay-offs. Make required adjustments after machine has been set up and periodically inspect wire for conformity to specifications using micrometer or gauges provided. Observe operation, detect faulty operation or defective material and report all questionable cases to supervisor or other designated person. Provide minor maintenance and follow standard or prescribed safety regulations. Perform similar and associated duties as required/directed. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to bend and handle heavy wire, work on your feet for long periods, and perform repetitive manual tasks.
