Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities, the Attendant II (Maintenance Helper) is responsible for: performing routine facility cleaning in all public washrooms, changerooms, and common areas and ensuring facilities are safe and user friendly for patrons; maintain cleanliness, and safety of exterior areas of the facilities including emptying garbage receptacles, snow removal and salting; assisting with ice resurfacing and/or pool readings under the direction of the Full Time Facility Attendant ; responding to public and staff inquiries, providing assistance when required; set up and/or tear down of facility spaces according to booking schedules; and; assisting in other duties as assigned. Requirements

• a minimum Grade 11 education
• demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills and ability to deal courteously and effectively with user groups, general public and program participants
• effective interpersonal and public relations skills
• physically fit and capable of lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects
• successful candidates will be required to provide to the Corporation a satisfactory police record check to work with the vulnerable sector as a condition of employment
