About The Position

To maintain and clean guest rooms and vacation rental homes/units to the standards of the Ocean Reef Club's Quality Job Standards.

Requirements

  • Lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, supplies and equipment.
  • Scrub, scour, mop, sweep, dust, and vacuum all areas and surfaces of guest rooms and homes, extending arms overhead to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Work in confined spaces using various cloths, brooms, equipment and cleaning agents.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the course of the workday.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and room assignments to maximize workload and meet guest expectations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with members/guests, associates, supervisors and management.
  • Follow instructions, directions, and meet deadlines, including the thorough cleaning of guest rooms specified by management.
  • Ability to use a variety of cleaning chemicals.
  • Well organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Must display creativity, loyalty, dependability and good judgment.
  • Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments.
  • Driving license required to navigate the property by assigned golf cart or vehicle.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to reach, grab and lift objects over shoulder height
  • Must be able to squat and kneel down on regular basis
  • Must be able to bend & twist upper body to reach up, down or side-ways on regular basis
  • Be a team player and provide lateral service.

  • Be able to endure outside weather conditions; heat, rain, cold, and at times high winds.
  • Be willing and able to work when needed, including weekends & holidays.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Ocean Reef Club from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook.
  • As a condition of employment, all associates agree to fully comply with Ocean Reef Club rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Club facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • High school education preferred.
  • Prefer previous housekeeping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, fixtures and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, brooms, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
  • Strip and make beds, changing bed linens which require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 10 lbs.
  • Dust all furniture, lamps, pictures, drawers, baseboards, window ledges, AC vents and shelves thoroughly.
  • Push and pull vacuum throughout entire unit and/or mop tile portions of interiors.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, supplies and empty trash in guest room or home.
  • Push and/or pull a heavy cart or attendant luggage to assigned rooms or drive a golf cart with cleaning materials and amenities to individual units and homes.
  • Report suspicious persons, activities, or hazardous conditions.
  • Provide instruction/guidance for guest and employee safety in emergency situations.
  • Immediate response to member/guest requests for items such as amenities, linen and safety instructions, assistance, directions, and/or other information as requested.
  • Turn in all items found in Associate's working area to Housekeeping Lost and Found Department. All items must be labeled with room number, date and associate's name.
  • Assist other attendants, supervisors and management as assigned, and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Communicate maintenance issues with any interior or exterior part of the ORC property to supervisory staff.
