About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall Guest experience at Universal Kids Resort, including during play interactions, Guest celebrations and school and other group visits. Provides exemplary Guest service and engages with Guests through use of props and themed items, resetting puzzles and interactive games/props, supporting Guest-specific celebration events, and providing information to contribute to a positive Guest experience. Delivers school and youth group programming in accordance with set lesson plans. Assists with the execution of special events, including being responsible for managing all equipment for each event and moving it prior to and after each event.

Requirements

  • Strong customer/guest service and communications skills.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with groups and using public speaking skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6+ months of Customer Service experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and engages with Guests as they enter various lands and zones, utilizing various items, props, and hosting celebrations/events to provide an engaging and fun experience for Guests.
  • Provides safety instructions, resets any props/games in a timely manner, and assists with Guest questions.
  • Supports the execution and adherence to special Guest events for small to large celebrations including children’s birthdays, family reunions, graduation, corporate events, and special events throughout Universal Kids Resort.
  • Provides delivery of school and youth group lessons, supporting chaperones and students as needed both in lesson and in park.
  • Resolves and eases Guest situations on an individual basis through personal interaction. Professionally asks exploratory questions to identify concerns, needs, and expectations. Determines and provides appropriate course of Guest recovery and escalates issues as necessary for a timely resolution.
  • Ensures kid-focused Guest service standards are met and all IBCCES standards are utilized.
  • Assist with various aspects of Guest events including arrivals/departures, supporting check-in and distribution of materials and event items, holding event perimeters and escorting/directing vehicles, buses and directing Guests around the resort.
  • Assists with crowd control operations for Guest celebrations, special events, productions, and other projects. Responsible for maintaining safety in large crowds, including, but not limited to set-up and tear down of equipment (barricades, rope and stanchions, carts and signage), escorting Guests and/or equipment, parade handling, and providing vocal or hand signal direction to large crowds.
  • Assists with assembling, moving and cleaning of department equipment needed for special events such as room decorations, props, games, tables, chairs, barricades, retractables, and stanchions. Demonstrates safe equipment practices and maintains a clean and safe work environment by constantly monitoring the immediate area and/or surroundings.
  • Assists with projects, initiatives and sustainment efforts as directed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
