TITLE: Attendance Secretary REVISED 05/01/25 LOCATION: Millcreek Education Center APPROVED 05/27/25 DAYS: 200 days/year RATE: $21.06/hour QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma required. 2. Advanced secretarial and computer skills, including a working knowledge of various applications. 3. Knowledge of operating computers, and specific software programs relative to school operation. 4. Previous secretarial experience, preferred. 5. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-task environment. 6. Maintain good rapport with co-workers and community. 7. Maintain confidentiality of District and school business. 8. Have an interest in education and be able to work with students. 9. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services JOB GOAL: To establish and maintain a high standard of professionalism in the operation of projects, initiatives, and daily functions. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle confidential information concerning students and families. Answer phones and support parents/guardians needing assistance with attendance. Complete online data entry using district wide student information system. Responsible for maintaining all school district attendance. Process and monitor all Infinite Campus portal requests, parent emails, and written excuses. Coordinate with principals, guidance counselors, and school team members to ensure student schedules have been added for special programs. Run attendance letters and send to administrators and truancy monitors. Complete truancy citations and maintain records as directed per school principals and truancy monitors. Process and request, as necessary, parents-sponsored educational experience forms and maintain records. Forward to administrator for approval when needed. Communicate with parents, administrators, guidance counselors, nurses, and school staff regarding attendance and truancy as needed. Make corrections and adjustments to attendance for school staff, teachers, and administrators. Assist in crisis situations regarding students being dismissed. Prepare and distribute attendance reports for administrators. Demonstrate knowledge of attendance policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with attendance regulations, verify excuses, and report attendance data as needed. Maintain accurate departmental records and scheduling calendar as needed. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or their designee. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to sit, talk, and hear.
