About The Position

The Atlassian SME is a systems architect position that will be working with a high-end Digital Engineering Solutions technical team. The Atlassian SME will draw on their experience as an engineer to help the team configure Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management to provide customized, unique solutions for our Space Systems Command customer. This position will be responsible for building custom Jira workflows and custom Confluence dashboards to capture and display data. You will work with the customer to elicit requirements and workflows and turn those into automated and semi-automated processes in Jira. You will use Jira Service Management to manage workflows and asset management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in setting up and supporting Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Certified Atlassian Developer.
  • Extensive knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.
  • Advanced SQL and JQL query experience.
  • Experience with REST APIs, Git, and branching models.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Front-end development experience (JavaScript, Angular, HTML, CSS, Restful APIs, and Java).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and leadership.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a minimum Secret-level security clearance, with potential for TS upgrade.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Reliable telework setup with phone and internet connectivity.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (experience may substitute for a degree).
  • Background in DoD acquisition and program management.
  • Knowledge of DoD contract types and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Familiarity with SAFe, Agile, and related methodologies.
  • Coding experience in CSS, Java, and Python.
  • Certified Scrum Master certification.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and customize Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management products.
  • Design custom workflows, dashboards, and reports to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Automate and extend Jira/Confluence functionality using scripting and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical personnel, to elicit and decipher requirements.
  • Use coding skills such as JQL, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript to build custom products.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for SAFe, Agile, and other Jira methodologies.
  • Support the iterative evolution of products through collaboration and troubleshooting.
  • Manage workflows and asset management using Jira Service Management.
  • Stay current with advancements in Atlassian products and technologies.
