The Kansas Athletics Summer Internship is a professional development role to heighten and strengthen their education and working professional experience. Students will develop time management skills, work in a team environment, and learn valuable hands-on experiences in the field of intercollegiate athletics. We have six (6) internship opportunities across different departments within Kansas Athletics that applicants can choose from. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU APPLY We have 6 (6) internship opportunities across different departments within Kansas Athletics. The list below provides a short position summary for each role. Hiring Managers will work closely with our Human Resources department to manage the applicant pool and follow selection procedures. If you are a chosen candidate, you may expect a response from a hiring manager directly no later than May 1. This position will begin June 1 and end by July 24. Business Office This position will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of business operations, accounts payable, conduct research analysis, and general office support, all while helping to provide a great customer service. Equipment Services This position will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the five domains of athletic equipment management: purchasing; fitting and issuing; maintenance and repair; management; and accountability. Facilities and Events This position will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in general facility operations, and game day preparation of set up and breakdown. K-Club This position will provide exposure and experience to the full life-cycle creation and development of a marketing plan, communication collateral, and communication storyboards; This position will have the opportunity to participate in activities related to donor relations, student-athlete alumni engagement, and special projects. KU Leads This position will provide exposure and experience in event organization and promotions, working on research and development projects, student-athlete experience and well-being, and special projects. Marketing and Fan Experience This position will have the opportunity to be involved in sports marketing ideation, attending summer KU new student orientation events on campus to sell student combo passes, work on Junior Jayhawks program, and general brainstorm work for upcoming fall season preparation.
