About The Position

POSITION: Athletic EMT JOB GOAL: To assist the Athletics Department with medical coverage at games and practices QUALIFICATIONS: Certified as an EMT: Massachusetts EMT Certification and/or NREMT Certification Current Certification for Basic Life Support Skills (CPR, AED and First Aid) Prior experience as an Athletic EMT preferred REPORTS TO: Athletic Director PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide medical coverage, especially for off site home contests, when needed. Provide medical coverage for home practices, when needed. Manage and treat injured athletes during contests/practices under the guidance of the Athletic Trainer. Assist the Athletic Trainer with identifying replacement supplies to be ordered. Meet with the Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer prior to the start of each season to determine when additional medical coverage is necessary. Communicate effectively with both the Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer when an injury occurs. Provide information and appropriate medical documentation according to District protocols. Attend and participate in athletic department pre-season sports’ nights. Any other duties as determined by the Athletic Director. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal stipend. Barnstable Public Schools is an EOE and strongly encourages minority candidates to apply. Stipend $4,000 per season

Requirements
