About The Position

The Athletic Training Hydration Aide position is designed to provide educational and professional experiences for the undergraduate student while assisting Certified Athletic Trainers with event set-up and hydration management for Sun Devil Football. This opportunity would be best for students studying Kinesiology, Exercise and Wellness, Nursing, Nutrition, Biology, Pre-Med, and other allied health areas of study.

Requirements

• Must be an enrolled student registered for at least one credit hour at ASU.
• Must be in and maintain good academic standing with both ASU and the degree-specific college.
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week with a maximum of 20 hours.
• Availability to work between 6 am and 12 pm
• Transportation will not be provided to and from the workplace
• High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in athletic training, physical therapy, and orthopedic settings

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the Athletic Training room.
• Set up equipment on game and or practice fields.
• Gain knowledge of the profession of Athletic Training through observation and interaction with Certified Athletic Trainers.
• The Athletic Training Hydration Aide will be under the constant supervision and direction of the Football Athletic Training Staff.
• Student Aides will gain knowledge in basic human anatomy, the administration of basic first aid, and the basics of athletic taping and bracing techniques.
