Athletic Trainer - Physician Office- Piedmont Orthopaedic Job Summary: The Athletic Trainer plays a crucial role in delivering clinical support to patient care, working closely with supervising providers or physical therapists. They specialize in injury assessment, bracing, rehabilitation, and facilitating return-to-play and functional training. The Athletic Trainer also coordinates patient education, develops treatment plans, and supports providers in scheduling and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training (required)
  • NATA BOC Certified - National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (required)
  • Current Athletic Trainer license in the state in which they are practicing (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Athletic Training (preferred)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH)
  • 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred)
  • Documentation in EPIC Electronic Health Record or equivalent EMR (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily clinical treatment of patients, supporting physical therapists in implementing treatment plans.
  • Provide guidance to patients on exercise programs, treatment plans, bracing, and scheduling.
  • Manage and coordinate injury prevention programs for athletes, as well as cash-based functional return-to-play programming.
  • Coordinate care with outreach athletic trainers, physical therapists, and other medical professionals to optimize physician clinical throughput.
  • Document injury treatments and develop plans of care.
  • Maintain competency through participation in continuing education, in-services, and other learning opportunities.
