Job Description Summary: This temporary (12 month) position is designed to provide advanced preparation of athletic training practitioners with a focus on the unique needs of the active adolescent patient. This will be done through a planned program of clinical and didactic education in specialized content areas using an evidence-based approach to enhance the quality of patient care, optimize patient outcomes, and improve patients’ health-related quality of life. Athletic Training residents will benefit from an autonomous sports medicine experience, along with active mentorship and administrative oversight designed to foster the transition from professional student to practicing clinician. Athletic Training residents will work as an assistant athletic trainer in a secondary school or club organization that is staffed by an experienced OhioHealth athletic trainer. This position participates in athletic training learning / mentorship opportunities with additional responsibilities which may include AT presentations, primary care physician interactions and research activity.
