RESPONSIBILITIES: The Athletic Trainer Fellow joins a staff of three full-time certified athletic trainers within the athletic department and has an opportunity to work with a wide variety of teams spanning approximately thirty different sports over three sports seasons. The Athletic Trainer will work under supervision until obtaining BOC certification and Indiana Licensure. This role involves the prevention, recognition, assessment, management, treatment, disposition, and rehabilitation/reconditioning of injuries. The position begins in June with support coverage for Culver Summer Schools and Camps then transitions to the academic school year starting in August and concluding at graduation. The Fellow will have additional, varied day-to-day duties depending on the assignment in teaching, sports administration or the health center. The Athletic Training Fellowship is a unique experience that can be tailored to one’s individual professional and personal goals.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in athletic training required, master’s preferred and Certification through the Board of Certification (BOC) for Eligible Athletic Trainers.
  • Indiana State Licensure in Athletic Training Eligible and Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer.
  • This position requires writing and editing effectively and communicating the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and authority when necessary.
  • This position requires discipline, an ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to work under the pressure of many priorities.
  • This position requires the ability to meet people with ease and the ability to work effectively within every level of the organization.
