Major Duties Under general supervision, the Athletics Events Staff plays an essential role in preparing for and supporting all athletics events, contributing to smooth game operations, efficient logistics, and reliable coordination across departments. The incumbent supports event documentation, staff coordination, special event assistance, and inventory oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality event execution. Assists with the planning, organizing, and implementation of game management for all 19 NCAA-recognized sports; specifically assisting the Associate Athletics Director of Administration and Operations in the coordination of public safety, parking, officials, visiting team requests, strategic communications (PA and Scoreboard Operation), marketing and promotions, etc. Creations of: game day protocol sheets, internal use event sheets, floor plans (as needed). Reserves and secures event day locker rooms, post-event interview room, parking passes, and golf carts for officials. Publish end of the end-of-the-year summary. Coordinates with internal Athletics staff to assist with non-competition special events. In conjunction with the Associate Athletics Director of Administration and Operations, oversee all internal storage areas; conduct inventory and equipment checks. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, general office clerical work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge and abilities listed.
  • Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in a business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of athletics event operations, including public safety coordination, venue logistics, and game day procedures.
  • Ability to balance multiple moving parts—such as parking, officials, visiting team needs, and communications support—while maintaining accuracy and consistency across all sports.
  • Skill in developing clear and detailed game-day protocol sheets, event documents, and floor plans.
  • Ability to manage scheduling needs, reserve essential event spaces and resources, and produce comprehensive end-of-year summaries with precision and clarity.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to event-day and part-time staff, ensuring they understand expectations and perform their roles effectively.
  • Skill in participating in the hiring process and contributing to positive staff development and team performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with administrators, interns, and campus partners.
  • Ability to support internship programming, communicate needs efficiently, and contribute to a collaborative environment that ensures smooth execution of game-day and operational activities.
