About The Position

Sacred Heart Catholic School is a community in which all members (parents, teachers, students and clergy) assume responsibility for living and imparting a life of faith, service and integrity. Our mission is to create faithful servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who will serve as spiritual, moral and intellectual leaders in our community and the wider world. Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and mission focused full time Athletic Director to lead the school’s athletic programs. This position is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and supervision of all athletic programs. This position will ensure that all athletic programs support the school's mission and Catholic identity and academic excellence. The Athletic Director will work closely with coaches, school administrators, student-athletes and families to promote excellence, sportsmanship and integrity across all athletic programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent years experience.
  • Practicing Catholic with the ability to understand, appreciate, and communicate the value of a Catholic education.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Hold and maintain first aid certification an CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Knowledge of a broad range of community engagement activities
  • Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills necessary for accomplishing goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and incorporate that data into strategy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing environments and priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead and work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
  • High level of energy, creativity, optimism and schedule flexibility (some nights and weekends)
  • Demonstrated analytical and customer service skills.
  • A strong ability to multi-task is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all athletic programs, teams, and coaching staff.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate coaches while fostering a positive and professional athletic culture.
  • Develop and manage athletic schedules, including practices, competitions, transportation, and facility usage.
  • Ensure compliance with TAPPS regulations, school policies, and all safety and eligibility standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance, inventory, and proper use of athletic equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
  • Coordinate game officials, event staff, and supervision for home and away contests.
  • Manage the athletic budget, including purchasing, financial planning, and coordination of fundraising efforts.
  • Promote academic accountability and support the holistic development of student‑athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, coaches, and school leadership.
  • Responsible for all other projects, tasks, committees, etc., as assigned
