This classification oversees the daily operations and staff of the assigned recreation center.
Requirements
Requires an Associate degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
Three (3) years of experience with senior programming.
Must possess and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
Possessing and maintaining additional certifications may be required depending on the area of assignment.
Responsibilities
Oversees and supervises the activities of subordinate staff and volunteers
Trains employees in assigned areas of responsibility; plans and conducts in-service training programs
Oversee records on senior activities, attendance, and other pertinent information
Assists with the maintenance of the facility, including, inspecting the condition of facilities and grounds, performing general housekeeping and maintenance duties, and submitting work orders for maintenance or repairing of major items
Manages fee collection, accounting activities, and program registration in assigned areas; reviews, records, and files to ensure proper accounting and documentation consistent with the department’s policies and procedures
Assist in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of a variety of tennis programs, activities, and special events as needed, Works collaboratively with other departments; confers regularly with other supervisors and managers
Conducts quarterly reports and ensures programs are properly maintained for optimal safety
Conducts research to identify programs of value and interest to the community; evaluates program effectiveness and viability; makes recommendations on new programs or modifications of existing programs to meet community needs.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requires a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
