About The Position

The Athletic Communications Assistant will be on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills, can work independently and within a team-oriented work group. This position requires significant evening and weekend work. Job Description: Essential duties and responsibilities Serve as primary statistician and game day athletic communications contact for assigned sports (write press releases, conduct interviews, assistant with the in-game broadcast production, handle in-game statistics, etc). Work in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant Director to manage game day staff for assigned sports. Assist with special events as necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong writing, editing, computer and oral communication skills.
• Successful candidates will be knowledgeable in Statcrew/NCAA Live Stats, Final Cut, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign & Premier, as well as have some knowledge of HTML code.
• Night and weekend work required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least one year of experience in collegiate athletics communications preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Digital photography experience a plus.
• Video editing and statistical software experience preferred.
