This Athletic Assistant position is specifically responsible for the direct supervision and administrative duties of the Texas A&M University’s Aggie Dance Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • General knowledge of NCAA rules
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and database programs
  • Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to plan and organize effectively
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Nice To Haves

  • High school coaching experience
  • Collegiate coaching experience
  • Professional dance experience
  • Choreography experience

Responsibilities

  • Direct administrative duties of the Texas A&M University’s Aggie Dance Team
  • Direct and organize fund raising activities
  • Supervise out of town team travel to post season basketball tournaments for SEC and NCAA competitions
  • Supervise team try-outs and team selection process
  • Attend morning/weekend practices, workouts and dance team performances at home athletic contests
  • Maintain continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations
  • Establish and ensure communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised
